Overjoyed 105-year-old great-grandfather cuddles newborn

A US man has shared video of his grandfather’s touching reaction to meeting his newborn descendent for the first time.

Jason Zwolak, a Canadian-born realtor from Irvine, California, posted video of the encounter between his five-day-old son Easton and his 105-year-old great grandfather last week. 

“This is one of the sweetest videos you will see. Pop is so happy,” he wrote.

The video shows Mr Zwolak’s great grandfather initially expressing apprehension about holding the child over fears he might accidentally drop him.

Only at the insistence of someone off-camera does the man accept the sleeping child.

Seemingly at a loss for words, the centenarian chuckles lovingly while holding the boy close, before planting a gentle kiss on his hand.

The video has since been viewed millions of times.

Mr Zwolak said in a subsequent post that since their first meeting, his grandfather “asks about (Easton) constantly and just lights up when he sees him”. 

“It's so nice to see,” he wrote.
