More than 35 horses found shot dead on regional Queensland property
More than 35 horses have been found shot dead on a Central Queensland property.
The deceased horses, including geldings, colts, pregnant mares, and mares with foals, were found dead on the 5000-acre property on Cramsie Muttaburra Road, north of Longreach, on Wednesday afternoon.
Longreach Major and Organised Crime Detective Sergeant Allan Cook said mass animal deaths can have devastating impacts on Queensland's regional community.

The dead animals included geldings, colts, pregnant mares and mares with foals. Nine
"The Queensland Police Service is working extremely closely with partner agencies to identify the person or people responsible," Detective Sergeant Cook said.
Detectives and local police will scour the property today to search for any information surrounding the deaths and look for more potentially deceased animals.
It is believed the horses were shot dead between August 3 and August 4.
"We are strongly appealing to anyone with information to talk to police immediately," Detective Sergeant Cook said.
