Australia should withdraw its diplomatic recognition of the Vatican over its refusal to comply with the royal commission into child sex abuse, a One Nation senator believes.
The royal commission has heard the Vatican has declined to provide requested documents about Australian priests.
Brian Burston says he will introduce a private bill to withdraw diplomatic recognition of the Vatican in response.

"The victims and the families of these heinous crimes deserve every effort and avenue to be examined by their elected representatives, to assist the royal commission in bringing these so-called men of God to justice," the senator said.
