At 109, Queensland’s Evelyn Vigor has seen her share of pollies come and go.

But the state’s oldest woman has declared Treasurer Tim Nicholls has her vote in the upcoming election, because he “has a nice face”.

Ms Vigor celebrated her 109th birthday today, declaring she would be having a “wild one”.

“I’ve always tried to help people and live a good life,” she said.

Born in 1906, the same year controversial Labor Premier William Kidston won power, Ms Vigor has seen Queensland go to the polls 21 times in her lifetime.

Her nursing home is located in Mr Nicholls’ seat of Clayfield and the leading member of Campbell Newman’s “Can Do Team” is not only expected to retain his seat but even succeed Mr Newman as party leader if the LNP is defeated.

Ms Vigor only moved into assisted living at age 104, and suggested she might even see a few more elections.
