One Direction’s Zayn quits world tour due to stress
One Direction's Zayn Malik.
One Direction’s Zayn Malik has been “signed off” the band’s world tour and will return to the UK to recuperate from stress.
Remaining band members Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan will continue the tour as a quartet.
Publicist Simon Jones issued a statement via Twitter saying the “band wish him well and will continue with their performances in Manila and Jakarta”.
Malik was forced to address infidelity rumours yesterday after a photo emerged of him with his arm around a young blonde woman in Thailand.
The star is engaged to Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards.
“I’m 22 years old… I love a girl named Perrie Edwards. And there’s a lot of jealous f---s in this world and I’m sorry for what it looks like x,” Malik tweeted in response.
The Philippines Bureau of Immigration had also requested Malik and Tomlinson post bonds worth roughly $5000 each ahead of the Manila performance this weekend after footage went viral of the pair joking about a “joint” while smoking what appeared to be a rolled-up cigarette in Peru, The Guardian reports.
The bond would be forfeited if they were caught using or promoting illegal drugs while in the Philippines.
