Woman killed in horror head-on crash

Just before 12.30pm today, a silver four-wheel drive and a black Holden sedan collided head-on about two kilometres north of the small town.

A woman who was a passenger in the sedan died at the scene.

Three others were taken to hospital, including an elderly man in a critical condition.

Traffic on the Dukes Highway was restricted with diversions in place, but has since been reopened.

Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the crash.

South Australia's road toll currently stands at 99 compared with 84 at the same time last year.

It has not topped 100 since 2015.
