Oatlands crash driver to plead guilty to manslaughter

A Sydney man has indicated he will plead guilty to manslaughter after four children were killed in an alleged drink driving accident in February.

Samuel William Davidson was allegedly drunk when he lost control of his car and struck a family on the street in Oatlands in the city's southwest.

Siblings Antony, 13, Angelina, 12, Sienna Abdallah, 9, and their cousin, Veronique Sakr, 11, were all killed in the crash.

The children were walking and riding their bikes on their footpath while going out to get ice cream when they were hit by the ute.

Davidson is expected to plead guilty to four charges of manslaughter, as well as charges of grievous bodily harm by misconduct and aggravated dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.

In the days after their deaths, the family of the four children spoke of their grief and paid tribute to them.

"Words cannot describe the pain we feel for all the families impacted by this tragedy," Veronique's parents said in a statement.

"Veronique was a vibrant 11-year-old girl, full of life, love and had a maturity well beyond her young years.

"Veronique brought us all such joy and will be forever remembered. Veronique will remain in our hearts always."

Danny Abdallah, the father of the three other children, spoke glowingly of Anthony, Angelina, and Sienna.

"Anthony's 13. Very handsome boy," Mr Abdallah said the day after the crash.

"Loved basketball. He woke up that morning and said, 'We're going to play this game for Kobe'.

"Angelina she was my, MLH, my little helper. Anything I needed she had my back.

"Sienna, she was my little diva, little actress.

"They have gone to a better place."

Davidson has been in jail since the crash.

He appeared in court today via video link without any support from his family.

He didn't make a bail application and will appear again in October.
