Woman charged over NT hit and run

A woman has been charged over a hit and run that caused the death of a man in Alice Springs last week.

The 27-year-old woman allegedly knew the man, 35, who was hit at about 5am last Thursday on Sadadeen Road. He died in hospital shortly afterwards.

Police on Tuesday said the woman had been charged with hit and run, medium-range drink-driving, driving without a licence, driving an unregistered car, and driving without due care.

She's been remanded in custody to appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court on August 24.
