NT woman assaulted with screwdriver, cord

A man has been accused of assaulting his partner with an electrical cord and a screwdriver in Alice Springs.

The 32-year-old attacked the victim in their home on Friday, police say.

"To treat your partner, someone who you supposedly love, in such a manner is beyond comprehension," Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Dash said.

The 30-year-old victim remains in hospital in a stable condition and the accused has been refused police bail to appear in the Alice Springs court on Monday, charged with causing serious harm, the deprivation of liberty and being armed with offensive weapons.
