NT public servant faces corruption trial

A senior Northern Territory public servant will stand trial on corruption charges.

Paul Mossman was chief of staff to Housing Minister Bess Price last year when he was charged with corruptly receiving a benefit from co-accused Xana Kamitsis, a Darwin travel agent and former chair of NT Crimestoppers.

She pleaded guilty in December to a corruption charge over offering Mossman free or discounted travel in exchange for his promotion of her agency to the government to book more travel.

Mossman, who is free on bail, appeared in the NT Supreme Court on Monday morning as a three-week trial was set, beginning on October 24.

His lawyer John Adams has previously indicated Mossman will fight the charges.
