Man charged with murder after NT stabbing

A man has been charged with murder after an argument in the remote community of Gapuwiyak turned violent.

Northern Territory Police have charged a 21-year-old man with murder and being armed with an offensive weapon at night over an altercation early on Saturday morning, when he allegedly got into a fight with another man, also 21, and stabbed him in the shoulder.

The victim was flown to Royal Darwin Hospital but died there on Sunday.

His alleged killer has been remanded in custody to appear in Darwin's Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
