Man charged over Katherine grass fire death

A man has been charged with manslaughter after detectives uncovered fresh evidence following the death of a man in a Northern Territory grass fire.
The 46-year-old was pulled from the flames behind a petrol station on the Victoria Highway in Katherine on Wednesday night, but suffered severe burns and died in hospital.
Police initially thought the fire was accidental, but have since charged a 34-year-old man with manslaughter and recklessly endagering life.

He will appear in Katherine Local Court tomorrow.
