Man charged in NT hit-and-run

A Northern Territory man had been charged after a pedestrian was killed following a hit-and-run.

The 41-year-old woman was hit by a car about 11pm in Palmerston on Monday.

She died at Royal Darwin Hospital on Tuesday afternoon.

A 33-year-old man has been charged with a hit-and-run causing death and low range drink-driving.

He will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court on June 18.

The NT road toll is now at 15, compared to 18 at the same time last year.
