Croc, snake found during drug raids in NT

A live crocodile and snake were found by police while raiding a property south of Darwin.

Police charged a 49-year-old man following a search warrant at a Livingstone house on Wednesday.

They found various illegal drugs such as methamphetamine, cannabis, drug making instructions and equipment and $13,300 cash.

A live juvenile crocodile and live carpet python were also in the house.

The man was charged with various offences including the illegal supply of commercial amounts of illicit and dangerous drugs and possessing ammunition without a permit.

Wayne Maurice Purtell faced Darwin Local Court on Thursday, with his case adjourned to next month.
