Child, 2, drowns in NT backyard pool

A toddler has reportedly drowned in a backyard pool in Katherine in the Northern Territory.

The incident, involving a two-year-old, is believed to have taken place on Wednesday afternoon.

Ambulance crews and police attended the scene, the ABC reported.

The child was taken to Katherine Hospital but could not be revived.
