‘I know nothing’: Police release new footage of notorious outback killer days before death
New footage released by Northern Territory police shows convicted killer Bradley John Murdoch, in his final weeks of life, denying he knows the location of his victim’s body.
The body-cam footage shows the backpack killer being questioned about where the body of Peter Falconio is buried, with Murdoch repeatedly stating he doesn’t know anything about it in a profane outburst.

“I know nothing, I’ve said this for 22 years, I know nothing,” he said.
“You keep asking these f------ questions, I know nothing.”
When asked by the investigator to think about confessing where the body could be found he unleashed another verbal tirade, telling her he’s “thought about it for 22 f------ years”.
“I’ve said the same story, over and over and over and now you’re here in the last minute because I’m f------ dying.”
Murdoch died in prison three weeks later, on July 16, at the palliative care unit of Alice Springs Hospital following a battle with throat cancer.
Despite pleas from his victim’s family, the remains of Peter Falconio have never been recovered.

Northern Territory Police Acting Commander Mark Grieve had said multiple times in the past that Murdoch had “chosen not to positively engage with police”.
He also described Murdoch as being “not very forthcoming” when police have questioned him over Falconio’s remains.
“There may be someone out there that he’s confided in, whether or not that’s family or friends, we just don’t know,” Grieve added.
The death of Peter Falconio
Murdoch was serving a life sentence for the murder of British backpacker Peter Falconio on the night of July 14, 2001.
He waved down Falconio, and Falconio’s girlfriend Joanne Lees, when they were travelling in a Kombi van on the Stuart Highway, over 250km north of Alice Springs.

Murdoch, who was driving a white ute with a green canopy, told the couple he had seen sparks flying from their exhaust, prompting them to pull over.
Murdoch then shot Falconio and bound Lees’ hands, and put her in the back of his ute.
However, she was able to escape, possibly when Murdoch was moving Falconio’s body.
At Murdoch’s trial years later, Lees described hearing something scraping along the ground while Murdoch was out of sight, prompting her to flee and hide nearby.
She evaded re-capture despite Murdoch lingering in the area for several hours to try to find her.
Lees was later able to flag down another driver who took her to safety after midnight that same night.
Blood had previously been found at the spot where Falconio was believed to be shot, but no other trace was located.
Murdoch was convicted of Falconio’s murder in 2005 and sentenced to life in prison.
He maintained his innocence and has never revealed the location of Falconio’s body, even in his final weeks before death.
A reward of up to $500,000 is available to anyone providing information that leads to the discovery of Falconio’s remains.
