$27,000, drugs allegedly found in NT car

A woman who had $27,000 in cash hidden in her car and 70 grams of methamphetamine in her handbag has been arrested by Northern Territory police.

The woman, 41, was pulled over by police following a tip-off from a member of the public on Wednesday.

Upon searching her car they allegedly found 70 grams of methamphetamine and cash hidden in the seats.

Police then searched her home where they say they found cannabis and drug paraphernalia.

They believe the drugs were intended for supply.

"We will continue to target those who seek to profit from the sale of these dangerous drugs, regardless of the time or place they wish to do their business," Detective Senior Sergeant Stringer said.

The woman is facing five counts of drug possession and supply, and has been remanded in custody to appear in Darwin Local Court on Thursday.
