The Northern Territory's minister for women Bess Price has been appointed to a special national advisory panel working to reduce domestic violence.
Prime Minister Tony Abbott had already recruited former Victorian police chief Ken Lay and Australian of the Year Rosie Batty to head up the venture.
He appointed nine other members on Thursday including Ms Price and Tasmania's police commissioner Darren Hine, a women's safety expert, disability advocate and women's shelter operator.
