The Northern Territory man with the world's loudest burp

A Northern Territory man has broken the record for the world's loudest burp.

Nev Sharp from Humpty Doo put his belching ability to the test in a sound proof recording studio this week where he reached 110.6 decibels, NT News reports.

The unofficial measurement beats the world record held by Paul Hunn from the UK at 109.9 decibels.

The NT local is awaiting a reply from Guinness World Records to have his burp formally tested.

If awarded a record for his achievement, Sharp could soon find himself rubbing shoulders with other Guinness elites like the man who squirts milk out of his eye and the woman who sniffs feet.

“It’s been a bit of a goal from when I was a kid,” he told NT News.

“I’m always training. I just have to ask my next door neighbours behind us.”
