Woman stabbed in neck in Sydney's west

A woman has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed in the neck in Sydney's west.

A 23-year-old woman, known to the victim, was arrested at the scene, police said.

They believe an altercation occurred sometime after midday and not long after the victim, aged in her 40s, arrived at a unit in Villawood.

She was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
