Woman's body found in Sydney's west

Police are trying to identify a woman whose body was found in a reserve in Sydney's west.

The woman, believed to be aged in her 50s, was found close to the shoreline at Brays Bay Reserve in Rhodes late on Thursday night.

The cause of death is not yet known, but it is not being treated as suspicious.

Police have appealed for help in identifying the woman, who they say was about 160cm tall, and had an Asian appearance with black hair.

She was wearing a grey double-breasted woollen trench-style coat with black buttons, a red long-sleeved top over a black top, a grey woollen scarf and grey and white running shoes.
