Woman critically injured, NSW man charged

A woman is fighting for life in hospital after suffering critical head injuries on the NSW central coast and an elderly man has been charged.
Emergency services were called to a Berkeley Vale home about 9.15pm on Tuesday after reports the 79-year-old woman was found injured.
She was flown to John Hunter Hospital, where she remained in a critical condition on Wednesday.

A 91-year-old man, who is known to the woman, was arrested at the scene, police said.
He has been charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The man was granted conditional bail at Wyong Local Court on Wednesday, and is next scheduled to face court in September.
