Woman charged over crash that killed boy
A woman who was behind the wheel in a car crash that killed an 11-year-old boy has been charged after drugs including ice and cannabis were found in the vehicle.
The 45-year-old woman was driving with the boy and a 31-year-old man in Bilpin in the Blue Mountains when she veered off the road and smashed into a tree two weeks ago.
The 11-year-old died in hospital.
Following the crash drugs alleged to be ice and cannabis were found in the car, police said.
The 45-year-old woman, who was known to the boy, was charged with 11 drug and driving offences on Thursday including negligent driving occasioning death and drug possession.
Police are waiting for a blood test to come back and more charges may be laid.
The woman has been granted conditional bail and will face Windsor Local court in January.
