Whittington's wife disappointed with Nine

The wife of the Australian-British man jailed over the botched 60 Minutes child kidnapping attempt in Lebanon says the Nine Network has treated her husband unfairly.

"Just to dismiss everything and say they have no responsibility is not very moral in my eyes," Adam Whittington's wife, Karin, said on Wednesday.

She's told Network Ten's The Project her husband does not blame the 60 Minutes TV crew, including journalist Tara Brown, for his ordeal but he is disappointed with the team's management.

Whittington's firm Child Abduction Recovery International (CARI) reportedly received a $69,000 payment from the Nine Network for the operation which saw two children snatched from a street in Beirut earlier this month.

The TV crew and Brisbane mother Sally Faulkner, who were arrested over the kidnapping, were released from prison last week under a deal thought to involve a large compensation payment from Channel Nine.

Whittington however remains behind bars and has expressed anger at being left out of the release deal.

Mrs Whittington criticised the Nine Network for not contacting her throughout the ordeal.

"They could have (had) the decency to at least see how I am," she said, adding that she had only managed a 30-second phone conversation with her husband since the arrest.

She said she was also disappointed the Australian federal government had not contacted her.

Whittington's bail hearing is expected to take place sometime this week.

His lawyer has said he will take the case to the Court of Appeal if his client is not granted bail.
