FEATURES OF THE NEW $10 BANKNOTE

- The faces of famous Australian writers Dame Mary Gilmore and AB "Banjo" Paterson remain on each side

- Images of a pen nib in two of the clear windows and excerpts of their poetry in microprint

- Innovative new security features to stop counterfeiting, including a top-to-bottom clear window and patch with a rolling colour effect

- Tactile feature of two raised dots to help the vision-impaired distinguish banknote denominations (the $5 note has one dot)

- A species of native Australian wattle, the bramble wattle (Acacia victoriae)

- A native bird species, the sulphur-crested cockatoo (Cacatua galerita)

- It will be issued into circulation in September.
