What's in the 2018/19 NSW budget

NSW BUDGET 2018/19 ANNOUNCEMENTS TO DATE:

HEALTH

* $2 billion over four years for mental health infrastructure including more mental health workers and services

* $1.1 billion in recurrent expenditure in 2018/19 for 950 nurses and midwives, 300 doctors and 120 allied health workers

* $157 million parents package for 100 more midwives, investment in treatments for children's diseases and a $150 hamper for newborns

* $60 million over four years for cardiovascular disease research

EDUCATION

* $15 billion in 2018/19 on school funding and to employ about 900 full-time science and maths teachers in public schools

* $6 billion over four years for 20 new and upgraded schools

* $500 million to air condition up to 1000 public schools in 2018/19

* $160 million in 2018/19 for school maintenance

* $32 million to Catholic and independent schools over four years to build more classrooms

TRANSPORT

* $880 million to improve technology on the Sydney Trains network and increase the number of trains which can run during peak times

* $15.6 million over the next 12 months for extra bus services in the northern beaches, Wentworth Point, Penrith, Blacktown and Lane Cove

* $133 million in 2018/19 to upgrade 11 train stations

ROADS

* More than $2.6 billion over four years for road projects across western and southwestern Sydney

* Up to $2.6 billion for the first section of the F6 extension which will connect the new M5 motorway at Arncliffe to Kogarah

* $600 million for road safety improvements and enhanced police enforcement over four years

* $173 million to improve safety and traffic flow on Heathcote Road

COST OF LIVING

* 40 per cent reduction in caravan and camper trailer registration

* $24 million to resource Service NSW centres to become "one-stop shops" for people to access more than 40 saver programs

* NSW government-issued parking fines will be reduced by 25 per cent

TAX

* Payroll tax cuts for businesses where the payroll tax threshold will be lifted from the current level of $750,000 to $1 million by 2021/22

JOBS

* $285 million skills and training package for 100,000 free apprenticeships over four years

AGRICULTURE AND DROUGHT

* $284 million to boost the government's drought relief package

* $50 million to bolster on-farm productivity and agriculture research

ENVIRONMENT

* $1.9 billion to improve environment and heritage including $630 million for trails in national parks, $100 million to protect communities and the environment from natural disasters and $100 million to improve waste management

* More than $23 million over the next two years to build a world-class regional water management and compliance regime

SERVICES

* $3.9 billion to boost the NSW Police Force in 2018/19 including $118.5 million to build six new police stations and $12 million for facial matching services

* More than $1 billion over four years to boost the number of paramedics and ambulance services

* $56.4 million over four years for the NSW SES fleet program which will buy almost 500 new vehicles, marine vessels and trailers

* More than $106 million of expense funding for ICAC over four years

TECHNOLOGY

* $10 million over four years to expand the government's trial of driverless vehicles

JUSTICE

* More than $12 million for community legal centres and more than $7 million for civil justice initiatives over the next four years

* $7 million over four years to help small businesses and individuals resolve disputes online

INDIGENOUS

* $33.1 million over four years for a new Aboriginal social housing strategy

* $10 million over four years for Aboriginal economic development opportunities
