Warning over fake speeding fine scam

If you're sent a speeding fine via email, delete it. It's a scam.

Dozens of people in NSW, Victoria, Queensland and ACT have been targeted in recent weeks, the NSW Office of State Revenue warns.

Opening the emails, which look genuine, risks handing scammers sensitive financial information or passwords.

"Don't respond or they could steal your money," said NSW fines chief Tony Newbury.

He said fines are only issued on-the-spot or via post.
