Wanted NSW man captured on north coast

A man who was on the run from police has been captured on the NSW mid-north coast.

The 30-year-old man allegedly escaped custody in the early hours of Thursday morning following his arrest.

Officers stopped a car in South Grafton just after 9.30pm on Friday and say the man, who had been a passenger in the car, was arrested after a short foot pursuit.

He has been taken to Grafton Police Station to be charged.
