Violent home invasion in inner-west Sydney

A young man has been bashed during an armed home invasion, with the assailants stealing a car and several mobile phones.

A group of up to four men forced entry to a home in the inner-west Sydney suburb of Abbotsford on Thursday morning, threatening the three residents with a handgun and striking a male resident in the head.

He was later taken to hospital for treatment.
