A man who allegedly filmed up the skirt of a woman on an escalator has also been found in possession of child abuse material, NSW police say.

Officers seized the man's mobile phone and say they found child abuse material and evidence of child grooming.
Police later searched the man's New Lambton heights home, where officers found electronic equipment containing more child abuse material.
The man was charged with a string of offences and refused bail. He is expected to face Belmont Local Court on April 24.
