Underage NSW driver arrested over robbery

A 15-year-old driver and his 14-year-old passenger have been arrested after an alleged restaurant robbery and police chase on the Central Coast.

After reports of a break-in in the early hours of Tuesday morning in the Lake Macquarie area, police pursued a car speeding away from the scene. The chase ended when the two boys allegedly crashed the vehicle and ran away, but both were arrested in bushland shortly afterwards.

Another three youths aged 14, 15 and 17 were also arrested at the crash site. The driver was charged with multiple driving offences while the other four teenagers are being questioned.
