Uber driver mugged in Sydney's southwest

An Uber driver has been punched, had his phone stolen and car damaged by three passengers in southwest Sydney.

The 48-year-old driver told police he picked a man and two women up from a club in Kareela on Wednesday evening but asked them leave his car when they became aggressive.

As the trio, believed to be aged in their 20s, left they stole the driver's phone before punching him and kicking in his car's door, smashing a window.

The driver received cuts to his face but declined medical attention and police are searching for a woman with blonde hair and a man and woman of Middle Eastern appearance.
