Two men charged after Sydney station fight

Police officers were kicked, punched and had a traffic cone thrown at them as they broke up a fight between two groups at Olympic Park Station in Sydney's west.

Police say they were forced to use capsicum spray to subdue the groups after the fight broke out late on Wednesday night.

They say a 19-year-old man began inciting people to fight and kicked a senior constable in the abdomen.

During the fight, an 18-year-old man also allegedly threw a traffic cone from the top of platform stairs, striking a female constable in the head.

He then allegedly punched officers as they tried to arrest him, cutting a male constable's head.

Police from the transport command, the riot squad and the dog squad were called to assist with crowd control and two men were arrested.

The injured officers did not require medical treatment.

An 18-year-old man was charged with affray, offensive language, resisting police, assaulting police and assaulting police causing actual bodily harm.

A 19-year-old man was charged with affray and assaulting police in the execution of their duty.

Both men were granted conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on April 28.
