Two arrested in Sydney drug operation

Drugs, cash and ammunition have been seized after a nine-month police investigation into a large scale Sydney drug operation.

Two men, aged 26 and 27, were arrested in Moorebank on Tuesday night.

Police allegedly found ice, heroin and MDMA with a street value of more than $51,000 on them when they were arrested.

During a raid on a home at Sandy Point, police say they found 1.6kg of ice as well as heroin and cocaine and more than $227,000 in cash.

The drugs found in the home have an estimated street value of more than $350,000.

A .357 Magnum revolver was also located.

The 27-year-old was charged with supplying a large commercial quantity of drugs, eight counts of supplying an indictable quantity of drugs, and firearms offences.

He is expected to face Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday.

The younger man was released without charge.

Acting Detective Inspector Rodney Cutler said the arrests had disrupted the supply of a large quantity of illicit drugs and investigators had followed numerous inquiries to shut down a significant operation.

Police say further charges are expected in relation to Strike Force Pettifer, which has been running since June 2015.
