Twins charged over baseball bat bashing

A pair of twin brothers are due to face court after they allegedly bashed a Sydney man with a baseball bat, leaving him with a fractured skull.

The 42-year-old victim had gone to a house in Riverwood with his daughter on Wednesday night to return a mobile phone.

While at the property, he started talking to his other daughter as well as the twin brothers aged 19 when things escalated, police say.

The father and his daughter fled but were chased down by the twins, who allegedly assaulted the man with a baseball bat.

"During the assault three other men joined in and punched and kicked the man while he was on the ground. Those men fled the scene prior to police arrival," NSW Police said in a statement.

Witnesses called emergency services, who found the man lying unresponsive on the ground. He was taken to St George Hospital with a fractured skull and remains in a stable condition.

The two 19-year-old's were arrested at the scene and charged with domestic violence-related reckless grievous bodily harm in company.

They were refused bail to face Burwood Local Court on Thursday.
