Lanes closed after truck overturns on Great Western Highway at Woodford

Police are warning motorists to avoid The Great Western Highway at Woodford after a truck overturned and blocked lanes last night.

The driver of the truck, which was carrying plastic sheeting, was trapped in the cabin for close to three hours after the crash near Tollgate Drive at 9pm.

He was freed at around midnight and taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

Police said the truck would be removed at first light.

One lane in each direction has been opened and police have asked motorists to delay their travel to Sydney or detour via Bells Line Road until the area is cleared.
