Deaths of three in NSW are suspicious

Forensic experts are investigating the suspicious deaths of three people whose bodies were found at a rural NSW property.

A member of the public spotted the body of a man in the driveway of the property at Hermidale, west of Nyngan, on Friday morning.

Emergency services then found the bodies of another man and a woman.

Police say one of the bodies was inside a caravan severely damaged by fire.

Police have established a crime scene but few official details have been provided as the deceased haven't been formally identified.

Locals reported hearing a loud explosion before the bodies were discovered, Nine Network said.

Two of the dead are a father and son who recently faced court on drug and firearm charges, Nine added, although police would not confirm this.

News Corp Australia said it's believed the three were a father, his partner and his son.

"We aren't aware at this stage of what exactly has occurred at the premises," Darling River acting area commander Inspector Andrew Hurst said.

"Our forensic examination will provide further detail."

About 131 people live at Hermidale, which is the state's central west and 600 kilometres northwest of Sydney.

It's listed as a farming community that produces wool and cattle.
