Third man charged with terror offences on the NSW South Coast

A third man has been charged with terror offences relating to an operation on the NSW South Coast.

On Saturday a 19-year-old from Falls Creek was arrested and charged with one count of possession of an unauthorised firearm.

The offence carries a maximum penalty of 14 years in jail.

The teenager was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Nowra Local Court on June 1.

His arrest follows inquiries by the Joint Counter Terrorism Team into his alleged links to two other men from the NSW South Coast.

A 21-year-old Sanctuary Point man was charged with a terrorism offence on March 15 and a 23-year-old Batemans Bay man was charged with a terrorism offence last Friday.

The older man was arrested outside Nowra Police Station last Sunday after hunting knives and survivalist equipment were allegedly found in the car he was driving.

Investigations by the NSW JCTT remain ongoing.

The NSW Joint Counter Terrorism Team is comprised of the Australian Federal Police, NSW Police Force, Australian Security Intelligence Organisation and NSW Crime Commission.
