Teens threatened by man with large hook

A man will face court after allegedly threatening two teenage boys with a large hook, before fleeing and jumping into a swimming pool near Newcastle.

The 26-year-old man forced his way into a home at Adamstown Heights on Wednesday evening, armed with a large hook and threatened two teenage boys aged 13 and 16, police said.

One of the boys was able to dial triple-zero and raise the alarm before the man fled from the premises across a number of rooftops and jumped into a swimming pool.

The man was charged and will appear in Newcastle Local court on Thursday.
