Crews search for teens missing in bush following police pursuit in Sydney's south-west

Two teenagers who ran from police are missing in bushland south-west of Sydney.

Police have been searching for Robert Whitfield, 14, and Deng Lual, 14, believed to be lost in bushland east of Airds, where they were last seen on Monday.

Stormy weather halted a search for the teens about 3pm on Tuesday, but crews were back today once conditions had improved.

The teens were in a black BMW when they allegedly became involved in a pursuit with police that started in Bradbury and ended in the reserve off Banooke Way, Airds.

One of the boys contacted his mother via a mobile phone about 8.50pm on Monday suggesting they were lost.

The search was narrowed down to an area near the Keith Longhurst Reserve.

An aerial and ground search on Monday evening failed to locate the boys.

Police renewed their appeal for information about their whereabouts after efforts to find Robert and Deng failed.

Robert is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Island appearance, 150cm tall with a thin build, short brown shaved hair and brown eyes.

Deng is described as being of African appearance with a dark complexion, 155-160cm tall with a thin build, short dark hair and brown eyes.
