Teen charged over Nowra break and enters

A 14-year-old boy has been charged after allegedly assaulting a senior constable while being arrested over break and enter offences on the NSW south coast.

Police say a property at Sanctuary Point was targeted on February 2 with a window broken but nothing stolen as the would-be thief ran off when the owners arrived home.

Ten days later, an 88-year-old woman raised the alarm when she was woken by a loud bang at her Nowra home after flyscreens and a window were broken.

The intruder again fled the scene empty-handed and the woman was unhurt, police said.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested on Thursday evening at Nowra Police Station.

It's alleged the boy assaulted a senior constable while being arrested.

He was charged with various offences, including resisting arrest and aggravated break and enter.

He was refused bail, to appear in the children's court on Friday.
