Sydney teen arrested after allegedly fleeing RBT site before crashing

Police have arrested teenager who allegedly crashed his car and fled after attempting to avoid a random breath test in Sydney's west.

Highway patrol officers were conducting RBTs on Canterbury Road in Bankstown at about 9.45pm last night when a Toyota Aurion failed to stop after being directed to do so.

Police located the Aurion a short time later after it crashed into a stationary Toyota Tarago on Hoskins Street, only to find the driver of the car had fled from the vehicle.

After a search of the area police located a 19-year-old man in the grounds of a nearby factory.

The teenager was arrested and taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with failing to stop at RBT site, driving whilst disqualified, driving in a dangerous manner, failing to exchange particulars after a crash as well as trespassing.

He was refused bail and is set to appear at Bankstown Local Court later today.
