Sydney woman bashed while walking dog

A man has been charged over a vicious bashing of a woman who was walking her dog with her partner on Sydney's leafy north shore.

The 29-year-old woman and her 26-year-old partner were walking their dogs in Mosman at 11pm on Monday when a man called out to them.

The pair crossed the road and the man started yelling abuse and pushing the 29-year-old before head-butting her and punching her several times, police say.

She was taken to hospital with multiple fractures to her eye socket.

A 34-year-old man has been charged with reckless grievous bodily harm and common assault and will appear at Central Local Court on Tuesday.
