Sydney weekend drivers: avoid airport

Traffic hell hath no fury like Sydney airport on the last weekend of winter holidays.

Drivers have been warned to avoid the area or brace for heavy delays as thousands of families return ahead of the start of the third school term.

"If you don't need to drive or be driven, don't. Jump on the train instead," NSW Roads Minister Duncan Gay urged commuters.
