Sydney raids investigation ongoing

Police are yet to lay charges after two Sydney homes were raided in a search for a link to a major security scare at one of the city's main court buildings.

Riot police and detectives descended on the houses in Lockwood St in Merrylands on Thursday afternoon, just hours after riot squad officers surrounded the CBD Downing Centre precinct following a tip-off about a potential disruption to appearances.

A police spokesman on Thursday night said the investigation was ongoing and no charges had yet been laid in connection with the raids.
