Sydney protesters burn gov't debt letters
AAP
Student protesters have attempted to storm a welfare office in inner Sydney, burning debt recovery letters and demanding the government halt its controversial Centrelink debt recovery process.
Several dozen protesters tried to gain access to the Redfern Centrelink on Wednesday afternoon, banging on its locked doors before marching down Redfern Street.
The protesters, some recipients of the letter, were met by a dozen uniformed officers, though no arrests were seen to be made.
