Sydney man stabs wife multiple times

A terrified Sydney woman stabbed by her husband in a frenzied attack locked herself in her son's bedroom while she waited for police.
A 60-year-old Fairfield man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing his 53-year-old wife multiple times at their home on Thursday afternoon, police said.
A NSW police spokesman told AAP the woman escaped into the bedroom, with her 23-year-old son calling triple zero.

The pair sheltered in the locked room as they waited for police to arrive on the scene.
The woman was taken to Liverpool Hospital where she is in a stable condition.
Her husband has been refused bail and is due to appear at Fairfield Local Court on Friday.
