Sydney man caught grooming girl online

A 39-year-old man has been nabbed outside a pool in Sydney's west after allegedly arranging to meet a 14-year-old girl he had been grooming online.

Detectives from child exploitation internet unit Strike Force Trawler, who posed as the girl online, arrested the man in Parramatta on Tuesday afternoon after he allegedly made numerous sexually explicit comments to the child and planned to see her.

He will face Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday on charges of child procurement and drug possession, with electronic equipment, mobile devices and drugs seized from homes in Top Ryde and Dubbo.
