Sydney man accused of fail-to-stop crash

A Sydney driver has appeared in court accused of failing to stop after a pedestrian was injured in a crash early on New Year's Day.

Warren Jarrett, 44, of St Helens Park in Sydney's south-west, is charged with dangerous driving occasioning grevious bodily harm to Rick Eden between 12.01am and 12.05am on January 1 at St Helens Park.

He also is charged with failing to stop and assist after an impact causing Mr Eden grievous bodily harm, and negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.

Police have previously alleged that the pedestrian was walking on Kellerman Avenue when he was struck from behind, resulting in him suffering a fractured pelvis and lacerations.

Jarrett appeared in Campbelltown Local Court on Monday when his bail was continued and the case adjourned to March 6.
