Sydney driver bashed for overtaking car

A driver has been bashed after trying to overtake a parking car in Sydney's west.

Police have charged a 42-year-old man with common assault and affray over the assault on the Crescent at Homebush West just before 2pm on Friday.

The driver, also 42, tried to overtake a parking car when a passenger from the second car allegedly jumped in front of his vehicle.

Officers alleged that the passenger and a group of males assaulted the first driver, but his eight-year-old boy passenger was unharmed.

The passenger of the second car was arrested and refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Saturday.
